Talking to patients

We listen to patients and the public: from the young, to the over 90s, patients living with learning disabilities, mental health issues, long-term conditions, cancer, sight or hearing loss, the bereaved and anyone with additional and diverse needs.

Support for cancer patients

Marie Curie were keen to evaluate a pilot exploring the appeal of self-referral for palliative and end of life care.

Meaningful conversations with close family members, carers and those living with cancer helped to establish the value of the service and how best to promote it for those who would welcome the support of expert care at home.

Diabetes tech for type 1s

Working with Diabetes UK to explore the barriers around access to life-changing tech and hearing from those living with diabetes about the difference and impact it can make.

More recently looking at ways of helping Diabetes UK to advocate and support increased access and finding ways to overcome the many hurdles patients face.

Caring for the carers

Nutricia wanted to understand the role of carers and their needs in supporting family and loved ones around loss of appetite and weight.

The project explored the sometimes emotional and physical impact on carers and challenges in supporting people to recover their strength. The opportunity to talk openly to other carers provided deep insight into the sector.
